An Overview of Green Tea!
Today, most folks are familiar with black tea (your normal tea like earl grey). In 91% of the cases, this type of tea can be bought in a supermarket. Green tea is completely different. Green tea originates deep from within China & Japan. Green tea is also very popular in other Asian countries including Hong Kong, Taiwan, Morocco and the whole of the Middle East.
But generally we are mostly concerned with only 2 types of the green teas.
They are Chinese and Japanese green teas.
In this post I’m going to discuss Chinese Green teas merely because of their vast variety and because green tea comes from China!
Xi Hu Longjing,the most famous of all green teas, can be found in Zhejiang province in China.
Xi Hu Longjing is China’s most famous tea, and it’s the regarded the best of all Long Jing teas. Xi Hu tea has more than a 1000 years of recorded history. This is also by far the world’s most protected tea. Only leaves picked within a 168 square kilometer radius of the Xi Hu area can be considered as true Xi Hu Long Jing Tea.
For about 50 grams of genuine Xi Hu Long Jing Green Tea you will pay around $40. Pretty darn expensive hey?
